Tell us your story, how did you get into the industry and what has your journey looked like thus far?
My industry journey started when I became a private dancer/ adult entertainer for bachelor & private parties in Sacramento, San Francisco & Reno. During that time, my work was on a "word of mouth" basis. It was very fun while it lasted - but soon after, I discovered different Sugar Daddy websites and made profiles to see how things went & to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. While "sugaring", I met wonderful gentlemen & still talk to a few to this day.
I have been in the industry for a total of 8 years. For the 2 couple of years, I have rebranded myself and became now known as "Robyn Parks". My journey as Robyn has been very fun and eventful, with meeting amazing clients, taking trips, meeting new girlfriend's in the industry and doing things that I never would have done while being in a regular relationship. As for any professional, there will always be ups and downs, but I try to focus more on the positive & keep good vibes and good people around me.
Being a Companion has given me so much confidence within myself and allowed me to expand my mind, expectations & accomplish personal goals for myself. I am constantly working on my brand in various ways, such as: professional photo shoots, keeping my website up to date & staying active on social media. I will soon be getting back into travel & touring as well. This is really a full-time job & I LOVE it!
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy working on my career in the beauty industry. I am a Professional Hair & Makeup Artist & Beauty Advisor. I have been in the beauty industry for 6 years now & I will soon be continuing my education in the beauty industry by attending Cosmetology school (by the time this article is published, I would be just starting my courses). This is something I am very passionate about and hope to become a Lead Makeup Artist for the big motion pictures in the near future :)
My other hobbies include outdoor workouts, cooking, exploring new activities & restaurants in my city, traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to amusement parks & local carnivals with my son.
What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
Honestly, I can not say that I have weird food combinations that I enjoy. However, I have tried grilled shark meat once before, it left a very strange taste in my mouth (It was not my cup of tea). Also, a client of mine took me to a nice dinner date and I tried fried- duck wings for the first time and I loved them. It was different and so delicious.
As sex workers we face a number of challenges in our line of work. What is one issue you care about and how do you think your clients can help sex workers?
This is such a good question that I am happy to answer. One issue that I feel strongly about in sex work is overcoming racism, especially towards African American women. This industry has opened my eyes to people categorizing women of color as being below standards, or complaining that our rates are "too high" because of the color of our skin, and it has to stop! This is a very touchy subject for me (and others) and I can honestly speak on this subject all day. I know the change is not going to happen overnight but I feel that clients can help sex workers by being more vocal (in a positive way), be more open-minded and step out of your comfort zone to book with a companion that you would not normally book with, you never know, she may become the companion you've always hoped for.
Another issue that I feel clients can help sex workers with is safety, for yourself & us. When reaching out to us, please take your time and conduct proper research. Read over advertisements, if she has Twitter or Instagram- follow her to get a feel for her personality. Find links to her website (If she has twitter, more than likely she has a website). Once you have found her website, read over it and find how you can schedule an appointment with her properly. Send all the information that she requires, this way she will feel more comfortable with meeting with you, and please.... do not ever try to negotiate her rates & remain respectful.
I saw on your blog that you love cooking up a storm and offer cooking date packages! What is one of your favourite dishes to make for clients and how did you get into cooking?
YAY! I'm happy that you've read my blog. Yes, I love to cook! It's so relaxing and therapeutic in some ways for me.
One of my favorite dishes to make has to be seafood-crab legs bakes, with corn, sausage, mini- red potatoes & shrimp. I can make that every single day if I could.
I also enjoy making Italian dishes, such as lasagna with Italian sausage & homemade stuffed ravioli with ricotta cheese. Even though I am great with many dishes, my specialty will always be soul food. I mean, you can never go wrong with southern fried catfish, collard greens, red beans & rice, honey baked cornbread & a sweet potato pie. Hmmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
What tips would give to couples wanting to book a worker?
I love meeting with couples. They are the best. I would say to be in an agreement before booking a companion, be spontaneous & have lots of fun! Oh, and make sure to book at least 2 hours or more. :)
What is your go to piece of advice for workers just starting out?
I would say to please take your time, be your authentic self and develop a persona that best suits you & the clientele & lifestyle that you want to attract. Read escort & business-savvy books, listen to podcasts & watch YouTube videos that are geared towards sex work. You can even reach out to other sex workers in your area that are willing to give you personal advice about starting off in the industry.
There are plenty of ladies in the industry that offer mentorship programs for workers just starting off and that will help with rebranding.
