Thanks for stopping by our sex worker interview series 'A Tryst With...' We're speaking with San Francisco's Mistress Blaze about organic connection, service topping, and peer motivation.
Hi Mistress Blaze! Can you tell us your “origin story” as a sex worker and Pro Domme?
I found my start in sex work online in the foot fetish and cosplay communities in 2019, and later moved to in-person sugar dating. However, it wasn’t until I joined the kink scene that something clicked for me. I’d been kinky all my life, but I’d never fully embraced it the way I did in the dungeon. Kink filled my cup unlike anything else. I spent several years in my local scene studying consent, first aid, safety, technique, and the psychology of BDSM, while exploring opportunities to play, build my confidence and my repertoire. Spurred on by positive feedback and encouragement from my peers, I began building my business before I took the leap to share my offerings with the world as a Pro Domme.

How has the industry changed since you started?
When I entered the sex work industry, there were many avenues for promoting yourself, attracting clients, and accepting payments online. As time goes on, I see those options are being limited as workers’ social media accounts are taken down and access to bank accounts and payment processing methods are being restricted—endangering their livelihoods. It’s essential now more than ever to support sex workers and advocate for protection and rights in our community.
How do your identities inform and shape your Pro BDSM work? Do you bring your own personal ethos to your work?
I’m queer and practice ethical non-monogamy. I value freedom to connect organically and resonate deepest with relationships rooted in D/s without vanilla elements like dating or sex. It’s non-negotiable that my partners not only support my work, but share my vision of living a life of true authenticity.
In my work, I shepherd my subs to bring their true desires of submission to reality, and celebrate their unique authenticity. The self-actualization and fulfillment I see in the containers we create together is what I believe life is all about.
As an ethical vegan of over a decade I don’t purchase leather for my practice. It’s an involved process to find gear, but this comes at my benefit as I choose materials like silicone and rubber which are more easily cleaned and sterilized between sessions.

What makes your BDSM style different? What do you bring to a session that is uniquely you?
I bring my whole self to every session. Who I am inside and out of the dungeon are not separate. I don’t perform dominance, I live it. My unique brand of freak has been inside me since I was young. I don’t engage with play that isn’t authentic to me and I’m my best self when I fully unmask: allowing my sadism, and urges to tease and bully to run wild and play. I’m a pervert, a freak, a bully—someone who takes risks and gets a thrill out of pushing edges. My passion for play, especially the intensely filthy, exposed, and messy kind, and my unconventional strong muscular aesthetics make me stand out.
Do you believe there’s a difference between Pro Domming and pro-service topping? What do these distinct roles mean to you?
If I could compare these two with an analogy, I would describe service-topping as similar to ordering a burrito bowl, versus sitting down with a chef for omakase as domination. On one hand, you can customize your experience to your exact preferences: what kind of beans you want, what protein, how many scoops of rice. You get exactly what you wanted, with no influences from the worker who prepared it. This can satisfy a specific hunger, but others may be looking for an omakase experience. They want to sit down, mention their preferences, and be led through an experience created by the chef highlighting the best and most fresh ingredients on their menu, prepared with the techniques they’ve specialized in.
You submit yourself to their expertise and open yourself up to trying something new that you may not have thought of on your own. My personal preference is to be the omakase chef. I know what I do best and what I have to offer, and while I am happy to cater to the individual tastes of my sub, it’s going to be flavored with my own style. Because why else would you be coming to me, if not for my unique offerings?

What kinds of sessions do you especially love? What kinks bring out the best in you, or do you enjoy playing with the most?
I am firstly an edgeplayer, corruptor, explorer, and lover of the taboo. There are few things I cannot find enjoyment in but my personal preferences skew towards anything grossdom (scent, sweat, dirty feet, etc.), Wet and Messy (WAM), Cock and Ball Torture (CBT)/ballbusting, humiliation, sadism, exhibitionism, service, and foot worship. Bullying comes naturally to me, so playful, cruel teasing, and degrading acts like giving a swirlie or wedgie, piggy play, spanking, or verbal humiliation fill me with great joy and amusement. As a sadist I find fulfillment in evoking reactions from my submissives, be it tears, cries of pain, pathetic whimpers, or slutty moans.
But my absolute favorite reaction that I will relish for weeks is disgust. This intersects perfectly with foot worship, which is a huge fetish of mine. It’s an act which is commonly degrading for the bottom to perform, but beyond satisfying for me to receive. What pleases me most is when my submissive puts aside their ego, displays reverence, and prioritizes my amusement and happiness. Let me corrupt you and shape you into my perfect toy.

Do you have a pre or post session routine?
My pre-session routine is important for prepping myself physically and mentally. I need to be fresh out of the shower and done up as my most divinely sexy powerful self. I don’t rush, I take 2-4 hours experimenting and listening to music until it feels right. The music helps create my desired headspace, and I curate playlists for that purpose. I go through my plans for the session, clean my implements, and pack my bag.
What is your experience with the sex worker community? Have your peers influenced, nurtured, or supported you?
My peers are an immense motivator, their confidence and support pushed me to make the necessary moves towards the life I dreamt of, and I could not have done it without their willingness to educate and share resources. There are so many incredible Doms I look up to and learn from. Community is essential, and I hope to give back the support I received multiplied as I progress.

How do you deal with the emotional and physiological highs and lows of domination? What kinds of aftercare do you provide to yourself?
My aftercare is a hot bath with epsom salts and body oils, a healthy meal, and a day of rest and reflection. I need more sleep following an intense session, and checking in with my subs the following day or week brings me peace of mind and joy that our time was well spent. Strong emotional regulation skills and understanding that our activities are fully consensual help me to move through the highs and lows of domming.
Do you have a favourite portrayal/representation of pro BDSM in media?
My favorite portrayal of pro BDSM in film has to be Sanctuary, a thriller/comedy from 2022 following a Pro Domme and her long-term sub as she fights for him to reconsider leaving their dynamic. The simplicity of the D/s play depicted in no way detracts from the intensity, and it highlights how the most powerful tools of pro-domination are not the cuffs, floggers, or canes, but the Dominants themselves and their mental capacity for creating intense, immersive, mind-fucking experiences on the fly.

What are your special interests? How do you spend your time outside of work?
My time outside of work is spent enriching the quality of my own life and the lives of the people around me. I am passionate about moving my body, lifting weights, dancing, eating well and connecting with the community through organizing and volunteering. I strive to keep both my body and brain engaged, and enjoy taking classes, reading, and keeping up with podcasts discussing kink, science, health, philosophy, and alternative lifestyles. A perfect leisure day for me includes waking up with a great morning coffee and pastry before hitting the gym hard, spending the afternoon admiring the ocean naked at a nude beach, and dancing to drum-and-bass at night.

My favourite kink outfit is: as a massive heel fetishist, you can never go wrong with tight thigh-high platform boots, paired with a waist-snatching corset and a sexy strap-on harness.
The best way to wake up is: being doted on by a devoted submissive offering up a breakfast of black coffee and cinnamon oatmeal, made exactly to my specifications.
In the future, I plan to: create and collaborate on more: porn, play parties, social events, sex and kink education material.
I get a big thrill out of: public kink performances with a large audience watching.
We'll get along if: you believe in human rights, uplift those around you, and continually strive for self improvement.
