Hoe's Odes: An Ode to Amphetamines and Store Bought Dopamine

blessed be the amphetamine

let it bring forth order to my house, my home, my head, the places in which I all live

holy is the miracle of its mighty works

to soothe my senses, to calm the raging seas of thought—of not-thought

to temper the cacophony bound within my own skull, to un-peel my skin and set right my much abraded nerves

as it pulls me from the dusty and squalid depths of my own chemistry, to greet the loud sun with no frightened sleep

does it not purify the very air before breathing?

it feels so

let us all rejoice in the sweet angel song of a silent mind

space, room, breadth, quiet

may it prosper and flourish as it allows me to prosper and flourish

peace given unto me, soothed is my soul, by sweet and lovely, amphetamine
