Tell us your story, how did you get into the industry? What has your journey looked like thus far?
Sex work always fascinated me, from the movies I watched to a college class where I studied it. That said, there were no agencies or dungeons that hired bbws, let alone a supersize bbw. Such places only hired what they labeled as “ height & weight proportionate ” ladies.
My break into the industry actually came via online dating. I noticed some sites also had escort ads. I noticed no women in the ads looked like me- very few bbw, no ssbbw. In contrast, my online dating inbox was full of emails by men sharing how they loved big bbws. Often society acts like men, especially successful men, do not desire fat women. Often fat women are raised in a culture that supports this messaging that plus size is undesirable. There was a market void. I decided to take the plunge. At present, the plus-size sex work market has grown a lot. Yet, I still regularly encounter both local and international clients who are thrilled to find out I exist. The cool thing about being a bbw in this industry is you can have a longer career if you want it. I am even more successful now as a mature sex worker.
As I worked more, about a third of my clients would request domination. I wanted to be more than the stereotypical “ an escort with a whip ” and BDSM done wrong is both dumb and dangerous. I started taking BDSM training workshops as was later approached to rent a dungeon space. That move grew my BDSM business even more.
I’ve always believed in multiple hustles. Like any business, there are times of ebb and flow. During my first year, I developed my online & phone sex work which I have grown over a decade. Having options has made me a happier worker because I've had the option to say no to situations that didn't seem right for me. I think more workers understand this better after the challenges of 2020. It has been an important aspect of why I still enjoy doing sex work.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Sunshine and swimming are something I love. With everything 2020 shut down, I have been renting pools around LA to get my laps. I consider myself a learner so enjoy a variety of podcasts, from foodie to true crime. Recently, I have delved into some languages. Not fluent by any means, but it was amazing to realize I was reading a sentence in Mandarin.
You run a really awesome podcast that I recently dove into! One of the issues I love that you cover is fatphobia. What do you consider the main issues facing fat sex workers that everyone should know about?
The most important issue is for everyone to acknowledge that fatphobia exists. It's not a fat person being sensitive to a joke or just their imagination. It's an actual problem to combat like racism, homophobia, or any other -ism. It's still very acceptable to fatbash/fat shame/comment on fat bodies in degrading ways. In one episode of my podcast, I discuss how I experienced being attacked publicly by a stranger for nothing other than existing as a fat person. It happens to fat people who are fully clothed, naked, buying a salad, or even at the gym. Let's not even get started on online trolls. The solution isn't "lose weight", it's people standing up to this behavior, within sex work or not.
Since sex work often magnifies and reflects all prejudices, toxic body politics shows up in multiple ways. It can be clients giving other clients shit for seeing fat workers, so then we get promoted or reviewed less. Its people in the industry saying fat sex workers aren't worthy of the same rates as much as other workers. It comes from the workers too. Some dominas and escorts have bullied clients for seeing plus-size workers instead of them.
How can sex workers and allies be more supportive of bbw and plus-size workers?
Stop being personally offended, shocked, or acting grossed out that clients also see plus-size workers. Retweet plus-size sex workers, recommend us, suggest them for a duo if you like big girls, and when you see fatphobia toward others combat it as you would homophobia or racism.
Men often like variety beyond hair color or cup size. It's interesting that many workers just assume their clients would never want to see fat workers. One past client's dream harem was me, a tiny Asian spinner and a sexy ts. Men like variety but are often shamed into suppressing their desire.
What have you learned about yourself through being a sex worker?
Enough to have a 69+ episode podcast lol. Sex work has taught me lots of empowerment and self-love. It’s taught me a lot about men and desire. For me, sex work was flipping the script as to the ridicule of fat women. Plus, my work just confirmed that LOTS of levels of men love fat women...
We know sex workers are experiencing censorship online, what have your experiences been with this?
Since social media accounts are often deleted without reason by ever changing algorithms that targeting sex work, I don’t get very attached to my accounts anymore and I post less. In fact, I just got a message threatening one of my IG accounts this week that was flagging posts from 2016 & 2018. Also, most typical users don’t realize there is also ongoing censorship regarding plus size women bodies online, both in and outside of sex work. The hashtag #fatisnotaviolation on IG exists because so many plus size women have experienced photo censorship. Basic example, two women pose in a pair of identical panties/same pose. The plus-size photo often gets deleted or the account suspended in some manner while the normalized size body is allowed to post the same photo and gain more followers. This suppresses plus size using social media in the same way as thinner women do for personal expression, enjoyment, marketing, or networking. It's a total double standard that these companies when they've been confronted don’t really have to explain or make equal.
You have worked in phone sex as well as in person. Many people believe that this method of sex work has died because of the evolution of technology, however, as we know from the uptick during covid, it's very much alive and thriving. What do you think has kept the phone sex industry alive?
The number one question I would get when sharing I have phone sex business was an often confused but intrigued “does that even still exist?!” My standard answer is “never underestimate the power of a sexy voice of a stranger in someone’s ear listening to all their secrets”. The consensus from my callers has been that phone sex feels more personal. Many men are burnt out on porn or webcam rooms full of other men vying for one woman’s attention. I’ve done webcams too but I didn’t enjoy it as much- now I save it as a treat for my established clientele or long-distance submissives.
Do you have any advice for workers just starting as a sex worker?
Stay true to your lane/vision of your work and it is ok to NOT follow trends.
An example, I see a lot of virtual trends like online bbw workers who market themselves in dehumanizing ways to monetize facets of fat fetish. New workers or in-person workers sometimes think they then need to present themselves in THAT particular way to make money. If you are into it great, but if you aren’t into that fetish it's ok- just stay true to your vision in how you present yourself in the marketplace. You’ll shine always more when you rule your own lane. If you don't see your lane, then create your own.
My ideal date would be: A stunning view, a bottle, yummy snacks, and a great conversation. New lingerie for me to share, some wicked flirtation, and a hotel safe with a thick envelope awaiting me is a great start to that ideal date.
