We know how frustrating it can be to click a broken link on a website. Even the best sites have ‘em, but all too often you’re left scratching your head and wondering where to go next. But as of this month you might actually want to land on our 404, just because it’s so damn cool…
Thanks to one of our amazing illustrators, our 404 error page now features a quirky ‘butt plug lifeboat’ animation, complete with circling sharks! Similarly, on the rare occasions that you encounter a technical error on our site, you’ll be treated to our ‘Oh no! Broke a nail!’ animation. You’ll also see a button for reporting the error, so we can attend to the problem as soon as possible.
It might feel like a minor change, but we’d like to ensure that even when your day isn’t going one-hundred-percent to plan, you’re still treated to a bit of good humour and of course, a helping hand.
New on the site this month
- Renamed ‘Caucasian’ ethnicity category to ‘White’: Tryst.link received a lot of feedback around the terminology our site uses. Caucasian has some very specific and sometimes troubling background as a euphemism for whiteness and we believe that it does not correctly reflect this category. There are a number of articles on the topic, here’s a helpful a summary.
- Check out our cool new error pages! If a visitor to our site happens to accidentally end up on our 404 page, or have a minor technical issue, they’ll be treated to some fun animations by one of our rad artists-in-residence. And, of course, they’ll receive some helpful advice for getting help, or finding the content they’re looking for.
Other improvements
- Improved login process: If you happen to make a mistake when logging in, we’ve made some changes that will help you avoid getting locked out of your account by accident. This will be helpful if you’re still adjusting to use 2-step login. As always, you can reach out to our friendly Customer Support team if you’re having trouble!
