Meet our Community Team!

. 3 min read

Tryst has grown a lot in the last year! Comparing March through May this year with January through March 2024, we've seen a 379% jump in new provider profiles per week, and a whopping 807% jump in new clients.

We spoke in May about how we're responding to some of the biggest challenges that have come with that growth, and our intention to be more open with our community about the ways we are going to meet those challenges. Last week, we announced our upcoming Reddit AMA

If you're active on social media or keep an eye on our blog, you might have noticed some new faces lately. You'll see some of them again in today’s AMA, so we thought it was time for a little (re)introduction!

Lola (they/them)

Hey hey, it’s Lola! Co-founder of A4, wearer of many hats and spinner of many plates here at Tryst.link. Eliza and I could own a hat shop honestly, and should probably start investing in Big Plate. I’ve been an Indie FS (full service) sex worker for 7 years, and dabbled in the online and sugaring spaces. Mostly retired, mostly.

I love to chew people's ears off about sex worker and digital rights on the daily – not always in the most appropriate places lol. When I’m not here juggling hats, I find painting, absurd comedy and my partner’s cooking to be my happy places. I wish discofoot existed outside of France because I would get in and around that so very hard. If you haven't seen it, check it out!

Maya (she/they)

Hi, I'm Maya! I'm a retired Asian migrant sex worker who's been part of the Tryst team since early 2024. You might see me signing off more in-depth replies on Reddit and Twitter (X). My overall focus is getting everyone the information they need.

Tech, community work and sex work have always been parts of my life. As a teenager, I started sugar babying for men I met in open-source communities. I have over a decade of experience in brothel and indie work, and about the same building websites and working with criminalised and marginalised people on online safety and digital skills. Keeping Tryst online and connected to the community is a huge challenge in this political environment, and I'm really glad to be part of facing it.

Outside Tryst, I do more of the same: supporting my intersex, trans and disability communities, providing sex workers and activists with information security advice, and writing a lot of prose, poetry, and fiction with creative networks I've helped build.

Chris (he/they)

Hi, I’m Chris, I've been with Tryst for six years, and am currently our Executive of Product (that means I'm ultimately responsible for our work on Tryst.link as a platform). Those of you who've been here a long time might remember receiving emails from me as a support agent! These days, my public-facing work looks more like writing product updates on the blog, doing community research, or occasionally on social media if Maya or Macy ask me to weigh in.

Some non-Tryst facts about me: I'm queer, proud, and have worked in tech for a couple of decades now, which makes me realise I am old now, damn! I'm a massive tea fiend, and get through 2–4 pots of tea a day, but don’t drink coffee at all. When time allows, I’ve been involved in many community efforts, from donating my time to queer and tech orgs that provide opportunities for marginalised people, to running community conferences. The adorable dog featured in my pfp is my favourite tiny man, a 4-year-old black and white Havanese.

Macy (she/her)

Hi, I’m Macy and I’ve been with Tryst for five years. I started out in customer support and then moved into a comms role as a content specialist. You might see me on Reddit, answering social support questions.

I was a sex worker for 13 years, and am mostly retired, though I still see a reg or two now and then. I’ve worked all over the industry, both in person and behind the scenes. I’m passionate about the sex work community and about helping Tryst users.

When I’m not writing copy or helping out in social support, you can find me listening to audiobooks and adoring my two cats.

Rory (rory/they/them)

It’s me, Rory, who you might know from here: The Blog! I’ve been with Tryst for six years now (omg!!) first as a customer support agent, then as an editor, and now as senior editor for the Tryst.link blog. I’ve been a sex worker for almost two decades and have worked in, around and across much of the industry. I’m indigenous, disabled, trans agender and intersex – I fuck, just not with gender lmao.

When I’m not neck deep in the editing mines, I can most often be found napping in sunbeams, fighting the system and enjoying these slavic techno beats to study and relax to.
