Welcome back to our sex worker interview series, 'A Tryst With...', where we get to know the providers on Tryst. We chat with New York FBSM Provider Delilah about switching career focus and industry evolution.
We’d love to know a little of your backstory - how did you get here?
I think like most people it was the necessity that drove me to sex work, but that's definitely not what kept me here. Being a foreign student was really hard, so I had to make some difficult choices at the time, and one of them was to start sex work. I am definitely thankful to have gotten here, to be honest. It has changed my life for the better. I have met so many amazing people that I would have never have had the chance to meet if it wasn't for this job!
You provide a range of services, including FBSM, kink, and Nuru. Can you tell us about the evolution of your work?
Absolutely! I actually started as a dominatrix back in 2017, and have been practicing BDSM in my personal and professional life for a very long time. I do love BDSM, but about a year ago I realized I wasn't comfortable performing much of what was being asked of me anymore. I felt like I was changing and so my services did too. I walked into a more sensual era, decided to move to FBSM, and add some of my experience to it. So I have been curating my sessions to what I like, and I must say I have been really happy with the results.
Do you have a favourite kind of session?
I am not sure if I can say I have a favorite kind of session, but I can say for sure I have a favorite kind of experience, and that can happen with any session requested. My favorite kind of experiences are the ones with absolute respect, not rushed, where the energy just flows, and the chemistry we create together is just intoxicating. Nothing can be better than that, in my experience.
What’s an aspect of your work that you really love?
I really love the interesting people I meet and I value the times we spend together. I think the experiences I have had with this job are unmatched and I am so thankful for it.
How has the industry changed since you started?
I think the industry is always evolving. Since I started, a lot more people have gone online and are selling content, which is something I would rarely see back then.
What has sex work taught you about yourself?
It has taught me to be so independent, to respect my boundaries, and it has also taught me about how to recognize my limits. I've begun to respect myself so much more since starting sex work.
Do you find that there is a type of client who seeks you out, who you really enjoy seeing?
I really enjoy seeing intelligent, generous gentlemen. There are some men who are able to make everything just so special, and I love that.
How do you deal with burnout? How do you recharge or take a break?
I often take weeks-long breaks when I feel I am getting tired or not in the head space to do this work. I like to go to quiet places or just spend some time home practicing self care and taking time for myself.
My dream pet would be: a wild cat.
One of my everyday hobbies is: music.
