Thanks for joining us for the latest instalment in our sex worker interview series 'A Tryst With...' This time we're speaking with New York Escort Fortune Cooke about boundaries, switching, and niche copypasta!
Can you tell us your ‘origin story’ as a sex worker?
I started by sugar babying at 18 while I was in college. One of my first clients ended up buying me my entire first tattoo set up, and one of my first phone clients would regularly call me on a weekly basis. While I didn’t have a lasting connection with my phone client, I continued seeing sugar daddies on and off for the next few years while pursuing jobs in different industries. It was only after I was injured and suffered nerve damage in my dominant hand at my bar job that I took a little detour from tattooing to further explore working in dungeons, making content, camming, escorting, along with working at lap dance parties and kink stations!
What looks different now than it did at the beginning of your journey?
I think the starkest difference now compared to the beginning of my journey is the community. I’m less alone now and have people in my life that I can reach out to for things beyond sex work, even if that’s what initially connects us. We’ve been able to connect to each other and create deeper bonds. I’m grateful to be surrounded and supported by my community and it brings me a lot of joy to celebrate my fellow providers. My boundaries are also firmer now than when I was 18, which I wouldn’t trade for the world.
As well as being an escort, you’re a BDSM provider. Can you tell us about your kink work?
There’s so much to tell! I love exploring the dynamics that can exist between myself and a client; I tend to be on the more sensual side, but being able to explore different limits and sensitivities is a lot of fun for me! It brings new experiences to the table and creates a really intimate bond between my clients and I. I enjoy varying forms of kink, including but not limited to impact, CBT, electroplay, sensory deprivation, bimbofication, and wax play.
You’re a switch. Can you share more about what that is, what it’s like, and what it brings to your work?
Being a switch, I enjoy being both submissive and dominant, as well as exploring both sides with someone! I really love being able to showcase the duality of myself in a dominant position: showing someone how I like to be pleasured one second, and then being tortured with that knowledge the next. It makes wrestling for the top spot an incredible game with a lot of push and pull. My clients also have fun being able to explore both sides with me and it’s an experience that I love exploring in my personal life as well. It makes me feel more balanced, in a way.

How do you bring your own personality and personal style to your kink work?
My personality tends to be on the very playful side and just a touch chaotic, which brings a teasing sensuality to my kink work. I’m extremely expressive when I get to dominate and humiliate someone. When in the more submissive mindset, I’m a bit of a spoiled brat and very forward about my desires. In either case, I tend to be real mouthy since I’ve got the New York accent and the Jersey gift of gab.
What are some of your favourite kinds of sessions?
My favorite sessions are with people who I’m compatible with. We could simply connect over a piece of media that I’ve made a cosplay video for, switching with a lot of banter, or maybe we have a taste for the same kind of food. We could also just end up having a lot of chemistry, which can be cultivated through regular meetings. I love sessions where I get to connect with a client on a level beyond just physical.

What’s a fetish you love to explore with clients? Do you have any fetishes yourself?
I love my foot fetish and body worship clients! I have various erogenous zones and my body is really sensitive, so I receive deep pleasure from getting attention paid to different areas of my body. Personally, I have a bit of a cum fetish, which is something that I explore while making content! I also happen to be an exhibitionist, which is pretty on brand for my profession.
Is there a skill you’d really like to be mentored in?
So many! Since I’m newer to content, there are aspects of marketing and editing that I’m just starting to learn from my peers. I’d love to continue pursuing tattooing with some guidance, but it is admittedly harder to get into and motivate myself with the nerve damage in my hand. I’ve just started camming too, and I’m having a lot of fun. Being so talkative and engaging makes me suited for it. I think the next skill that I’ll try to receive mentorship for will be more thorough and intentional pole dancing. I’ve learned a few tricks on the fly working with some amazing and kind dancers, but it’s something I want to build more foundation in; plus I’ve been wanting to implement more physical hobbies in my life.

What has sex work taught about beauty standards?
Beauty standards exist, but I do truly believe that it’s more than just physical appearance when it comes to sex work; you need a lot of resilience, drive, and honestly a vibe. I have a lot of discoloration on the majority of my body from eczema flare ups, but along with my tattoos, it makes my body distinctly identifiable in porn. I tend to wrestle a lot with beauty standards as someone who’s Korean American: there are two vastly different beauty standards that I could hold myself to. But I’m successful in my own skin and beautiful in ways I’m more aware of due to care shown to me by my colleagues and clients.
You create content! How have sites like OnlyFans changed the way you work? Has your content creation contributed to your escort career?
I actually started making content after I started escorting, with sites like OnlyFans giving me a way to show off my creative side while also connecting with fans! My content creation gives people a way to “meet” me before booking or another way for my regulars to show their support in between sessions! Being able to create content and collaborate with other amazing creators has aided in finding community as well.

What do you think of how the media has portrayed the content creation industry in recent years?
I’m someone who has started content creation a bit more recently, but the media vilifies porn and the efforts to censor it are indicative of the ways our access to information and resources can be at risk. Being able to portray anything pertaining to the adult industry allows the opportunity for attention-grabbing headlines, nevermind how negatively we’re depicted in the process. It makes me think that being perceived can be a performance in itself.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
I’m a huge nerd and I love playing fan-made Pokemon ROM hacks, watching youtube video essays about lost media, and watching different anime and cartoons. I have a client who knows about my Pokemon obsession and brought booster packs for us to open – it’s probably one of the best sessions I’ve ever had. When I’m camming, I engage with my chatroom by playing trading card game apps with them. I even based one of my videos off an infamous copypasta about Vaporeon, it only felt fitting to make a video since someone was going to do it.

If you want to win my heart you must: Get me flowers, feed me, smoke me up, get me to squirt.
My favourite work shoes are: I love a chunky platform heel, but if we’re being discreet, Doc Martens are my fave.
My dream vacation is: I’d love to go to Japan and Thailand.
My favorite everyday pleasure is: Waking up to an orgasm and a blunt.
My greatest turn-on is: Asking relevant questions to the current topic I’m yapping about. Holding the door open for me. Being a good cuddler. Deep massaging, worshipping, and appreciating my entire body.
