Welcome to another edition of our sex worker interview series, a tryst with. Today we speak with New York Escort Adelyn Moore about how she got started, nuerodivergence and the importance of decriminalising sex work.
Tell us your story, how did you get into the industry and what has your journey looked like thus far?
I used to be a high-fashion model, where I found (surprisingly) how prevalent Sex work was. There would be afterparties with couture buyers and invitations to SNCTM events (founded by Damon Lawner and modeled after the film Eyes Wide Shut). Through private introductions, I became the mistress of an executive and held a pair of “golden handcuffs.”
While temporarily alluring, I was intellectually under-stimulated by modeling and left to pursue cryptocurrency full-time as a private consultant. When first investing in crypto, I could mine ETH on a 1660ti laptop with an external high CFM cabinet cooling fan.
I decided to return to SW during covid due to limitations on travel, restaurants, and business meetings. The privacy of escorting allowed me to maintain my cautious nature while encountering the intellectual diversity I missed.

How has the industry changed since you started?
The changes I have seen in the industry have been representative of more significant economic changes from Covid. When I started, most of my dates would be private viewings of galleries/shows and cooking dates (I used to be a private chef).
As restrictions have lifted, I’ve done more international dates and increased my collection of Michelin stars. I have a large extended family across Europe, so I enjoy giving my clients a tour of the EU through the eyes of a native.
What was something you didn't expect going into the industry?
The benefits of my neurodivergence. Neurodivergence is a clear competitive advantage in education, business, and corporate environments. In my personal life, I'm often encouraged to mask my behavior/simplify my diction to be agreeable to neurotypical individuals.
Often my clients are neurodivergent, and we share many of the same interests (financial literacy, biohacking, Behavioural Etiquette, etc.) as well as communication styles.

How have you experienced Whorephobia?
I joke that among different social-economic classes, SW is ubiquitous, but the payment schedule changes. My last personal relationship was with a credit card co-founder who bought me my last apartment. Is that not a form of SW in itself?
As sex workers, we're often asked some fairly inappropriate questions by the public. In your opinion, what should nonsex workers avoid asking sex workers and why?
I’m an open book, haha. I love what I do and find most whorephobia ignorance, not maliciousness. I’ll gladly answer questions to clarify any misconceptions.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’m an adamant market watcher and tend to get obsessive about new projects. I research new protocols and monitor my node or day trading in my free time.
Otherwise, I’ll solo-travel Europe, bike through NYC/examine architecture, or hunt for the best saltwater pools. I can pack for an international flight in under an hour.
Were there any providers in particular that you look up to? Someone who inspires you & why?
I’m close friends with Mia Lee. We both share a background in corporate finance (though my experience is more specific to crypto), and we share great intellectual banter/ similar passions in our free time.
Why do you think it is important for sex work to be decriminalised, not just legalised and how would it change the way you are able to work?
I’m grateful to be largely unaffected by Law enforcement. The large majority of my dates are overnights or multi-day dates. I joke that seeing me requires the same information as filing for a loan exempt from SSN.
Legalization would dictate an increase in regulations on Sex workers regarding where, when, and how Sex work could occur. While this sounds ideal in theory, it often means a lack of discretion, privacy, and personal sovereignty. Our bodies are our business, but our bodies are not a business. Decriminalization eliminates laws specific to the sex industry allowing sex workers to live under the same laws as everybody else while still granting the privileges of protection from LE.

Are there any advocacy groups or charitable organisations that you'd like us to give a shout out to?
SWOP Brooklyn is a “national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of people involved in the sex trade and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.”
They do fantastic work, and I often refer clients to donate.

My ideal date would consist of: Dinner or lunch with a view, a spa day, or the Metropolitan Opera/Orchestra.
If you want to buy me a drink, you could order a: Whiskey sour with Dalwhinnie Single Malt Scotch whisky and an egg white finish.
My favorite scent is: I prefer not to mask my natural pheromones, but my favorite perfume is Chanel Gabrielle.
My favorite thing to be gifted is: Practical gifts. I adore gifts that enhance my life, not decorate it.
My favorite restaurant is: I’ve lived in NY for over 20 years and have over 300 flagged restaurants, but my current favorite is Aquavit.
