A Tryst With Boulder Escort Madeline York

Thanks for stopping by our sex worker interview series A Tryst With... We're joined by Boulder Escort Madeline York to chat about working for yourself, The Rockies, and making men blush!

Can you tell us your ‘origin story’ as a sex worker?

My first step into this world was actually as a client myself. Having been raised in a very conservative religious home, I lived quite a sheltered life into my early twenties. Several years after parting ways with the church, I decided I wanted to have an experience with a woman. I attempted multiple times to find the right person in the wild, but quickly lost my nerve. I also didn't want to hurt anyone by making them feel like my "experiment". Eventually I mustered the courage to book a date for myself with a provider. I found an incredibly lovely person, thoroughly enjoyed our time together, and thought I would like to be on the other side of the table.

Is there something you didn't expect going into the industry?

How much I would love it. I can't imagine not doing this. This is my dream job.

Has your work influenced your sexuality or the way you view sexuality?

Doing this kind of work feels integral to my identity. It allows me the opportunity to explore my own needs for novelty and variety on my terms.

How does sex work differ or align with other forms of labour you’ve done?

I've never felt more confident or powerful being able to conduct commerce on my own--no job, no boss, no middle man. Having had a taste of making money autonomously, I only ever want to work for myself going forward.

Is there anything you think the general public should learn from sex workers?

They are artists. They are small business owners, deserving of all the accolades, legal protections and respect society gives to any other small business owner.

You offer your services to couples - what does a couple need to know before they approach a sex worker? Any etiquette tips?

It's important for the couple to be clear as to what they are seeking from the experience, on both an individual level and as a couple. Please be open with a prospective provider about the fact that this is your first time seeking an arrangement. I know I would be honored to explore this with a couple. I would encourage them to do a vibe check with me, get a drink, and make sure all parties feel comfortable. Communication will be absolutely vital to a successful encounter. You must feel safe and confident enough to speak up if something doesn't feel right. And also to speak up when something really lights you up.

When you craft a session for a client, what are you looking to invoke?

I want to take them on a trip. Leave the mundane, everyday at the door and go on an adventure. Every client wants something a little different in addition to the obvious--some want to feel seen, some want to be held, some want to feel like a Don Juan, some want to feel desired. I love trying to figure out what makes everyone tick. It keeps things novel and playful for me.

You offer executive coaching for the kink-curious. What does this entail?

I love exploring kink with people, especially those who are new. I've noticed that I attract a type of man who is dominant in his everyday life, never been particularly interested in kink, but feels there is something about me--how I write, how I speak, my vibe--that makes him curious about what it would feel like to submit.

I also love working with those more experienced in kink go deeper into their fantasies, expanding their repertoire, and discovering something new.

I trained as a dominatrix in a dungeon based out of LA. I have experience with a wide array of different types of impact play, but I will always love the psychology and role play most.

You live in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. What do you love about it?

I love that I am twenty minutes from a trailhead. I can decide to take a hike in the spur of the moment. I have my choice of pine trees, mountains, lakes, or gorgeous red rocks to feast my eyes on. I love feeling small when I'm out in nature and part of something ancient.

What’s your favorite way to relax and recharge after a long week?

Red wine and pizza.

What are some of your special interests? What do you get up to when you’re not working?

I'm a huge fan of lifting weights. It's my form of meditation. I love getting out for a hike and then eating a decadent post-hike meal. I'm also a bit of a history buff. I'm currently reading The Anatomy of Fascism. A girl needs some light reading material before bed.

I'm completely fascinated by the intersection of human sexuality and technology. I am frequently reading books and listening to podcasts that explore the interplay between the two. I'm having a ton of fun exploring vibe coding.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, TV show, etc, about or including sex work?

I have a major crush on the razor sharp Lucia from Season 2 of White Lotus. She is such a glamorous hustler set against a gorgeous Sicilian backdrop.

My greatest turn-on is: Wit and intellect are incredibly potent aphrodisiacs.

In the future, I plan to: I would love to buy a summer home in Tuscany.

The makeup item I swear by is: Clinique's Black Honey lip stain

The most romantic thing someone can say to me is: "I'm intimidated by you". I once made a man who'd seen active combat blush.

The nicest place I’ve ever been is: I recently did dinner and a show at the jazz club Cliff Bells in Detroit. It was an art deco dream. Food was absolutely knock-out. I was in heaven.
