A Tryst With Minnesota Escort Josie Jones

Hello and welcome back to our provider interview series 'A Tryst With...' We're so happy to have you! Today we're catching up with Minnesota Escort Josie Jones.

We’d love to know a little of your backstory -  what do you do and what was your path like to get here?

My name is Josie Jones and I am a Minneapolis-based sex worker. I jokingly refer to myself as a Professional MILF. I am primarily an escort and I dabble in content creation on the side.

It’s not very surprising to me that I ended up in sex work. I remember being obsessed with Moulin Rouge, sex advice columns, and fascinated with the history of brothels of the Wild West as early as high school. I began sex work at age 30 when I became a single parent, providing sensual massages a few hours a week to help make ends meet. I realized I was more interested in the relationships aspect and longer-term connections that often occur in companionship, so I moved to strictly escorting in 2017.

Is there a common assumption people make about sex workers that really ticks you off?

Something that really bothers me is when people think that sex workers can’t possibly be good parents. I am a better mom because of sex work. I have full control of my schedule and I work entirely around my children’s needs. Because I don’t need to work 40 hours a week, I always have time for their appointments and activities, as well as working out and other self-care for myself, which allows me to be a more relaxed and present mom. Providing for them and getting to spend quality time with them is priceless.

Do you find that there is a type of client who seeks you out, that you really enjoy seeing?

With my latest “hot mom” branding, I am attracting quite a few younger guys, which is not totally surprising! I also advertise as being highly inclusive and accepting of all, so I find that draws in a lot of queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent folks. It’s such a gift to be a welcoming, comfortable space for all kinds of humans!

What’s something people should probably consider before they take the leap into becoming a sex worker?

As with any job there will be highs and lows. There will be amazing, bountiful weeks and there will also be weeks where you feel obsolete because no one is calling or emailing you. The important thing to do is set aside money for the slow weeks so you don’t find yourself stressing as much.

Another thing I would urge anyone getting into sex work to do is making sure they engage in truly healing self-care rituals. As sex workers we take on a lot of emotional labor and energy from our clients. It’s so important to recharge not only our bodies but also our souls, with things like spiritual practices, time spent in nature, community of like-minded people, movement, bodywork, and meditation. Take care of you, first and foremost.

Do you play music during your work?

Lately I’ve been playing a chillwave/synthwave mix. I love that it’s upbeat and chill at the same time, kind of like me. Plus there are no lyrics to distract me – thanks ADHD!

Is there a book that you’re into at the moment? Why?

I’m currently devouring “The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity” after experiencing a creative block for the last few years. It’s been really inspiring and I am overflowing with new ideas and creative endeavors for my brand.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of sex work culture? What communities, people, places, and memories are important to you as a sex worker?

For me it’s “community,” particularly my local sex work community. It’s so important to stay connected to other workers who understand us and can relate to us. I feel very blessed to know many fellow workers in my area. We host happy hours, clothing swaps, make memories at holiday parties, and coordinate impromptu admin sessions at a coffee shop. But sex work community goes deeper and the best parts are when we show up for each other intimately, like helping someone move, fundraising for a worker in need of help, emotionally supporting someone with a challenging life situation, or helping with child or pet care. In my opinion, sex workers have the biggest hearts!

My favorite scent is: Vanilla.

My ideal date would consist of: A fun outdoors activity, followed by food and drinks.

My favorite lingerie brand is: Wolf & Whistle, Honey Birdette.

A movie I can watch over and over without ever getting tired of is: “Mean Girls”
