A Tryst with Albuquerque Escort Lilith Gillman

Hello hello hello! It's so very good to see you back again my loves. Welcome back to our beloved interview series, A Tryst With. Today we're chatting with the illustrious, the invigorating, Albuquerque escort Lilith Gillman about sex work, Tough Mudders and the perfect date!

What are some benefits and drawbacks of the sex industry?

I really enjoy most of the clients that I meet. I get to meet some super interesting people! I especially enjoy developing long-term relationships with those who choose to spend time with me often.

There are also the more practical perks of the job. For example, the schedule is really flexible, which is especially great for students, moms and creatives. The income potential can be really good, too.

This job offers me a lot of autonomy, which I really like. I can be a pretty independent person and this job really caters to that personality trait.

Since travel is necessary for this job, I get to see a lot of different places, meet a lot of interesting people and experience different cultures. It helps me learn a lot about the world.

As far as the downsides…even though the schedule is flexible, it can also be very unpredictable. The hours can be odd and irregular.  This can make it difficult to maintain routine and stability.

Of course, there is also the stigma and discrimination. That’s probably the absolute, biggest disadvantage.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I enjoy long-distance running, hiking, going to the gym and even tried out rock climbing recently! I have completed a couple of marathons, a couple of half marathons and a Tough Mudder with some friends once. I would really like to do more of that. I enjoy being active.

I enjoy reading and have always been a little bit of a bibliophile. I like literature, poetry and reading on the topics of sociology and psychology. I enjoy museums, mostly art museums. I also enjoy art galleries. I like watching documentaries, comedy, Broadway shows and musicals and any type of dance. I enjoy traveling and meeting new and interesting people.

What’s one myth about sex work or sex workers you’d like to bust?

There are many! Think of any sex worker stereotype. Most of us don’t fit any stereotype.

What is it like working in the US and how do you feel about decriminalization?

I think the experience working in the US is really different for everyone. Yes, in the ideal world, sex work would be decriminalized in the US. It’s much needed. While I don’t think it would eradicate the stigma, I do think that decriminalization would make the work safer for everyone.

Personally, I have made more money while working in the legal sector. I also spent some time working in areas where it was de-facto decriminalized and this was a super good environment for me as well, as far as both earnings and working conditions.

In environments where it’s legalized or decriminalized, a lot of the power shifts from the clients to the worker.

In the US, I feel that arrests more frequently target women in sex work, not the men patronizing them. Though this depends on the region, I think it’s generally true for most of the US.

Also, there are a variety of hobbyist boards in the US that work to suppress escort rates. I have even seen situations where hobbyists on some of these boards would conspire together to pressure a woman to lower her rates. One way in which it can happen is: A bunch of clients book you for a tour. You don’t get a deposit. You go. Once you’re on your way, they all collectively cancel. This is meant to make you desperate enough to panic and lower your rate. I’m not sure if this sort of harassment against sex workers is normalized in other countries where the legal climate is more favorable towards sex workers. However, here in the US, it’s definitely considered socially acceptable to mistreat and abuse sex workers in a variety of ways.

I think that some US sex workers fear that if prostitution was decriminalized, the rates would plummet. Yet, for many sex workers in the US, the rates are already low because sex workers technically don’t have the legal right to charge what they want. Also, wages in highly-skilled occupations in the developed world, outside of the US, are about 30% lower than they are in the US. I think that this might be why the rates are lower in other developed countries, not necessarily because it’s decriminalized.

If sex work was decriminalized in the US, I’m not sure what that would look like but I think it would be interesting to see. There are a lot of things at play as to how the industry changes and evolves, aside from its legal status. If it were decriminalized, I don’t think the rates would plummet, nor do I think the industry would become even more saturated. I think maybe things would stay the same, except that it would become much safer for both client and the provider.

As of now, I feel that the sex industry can be an inherently difficult line of work, without the added challenge of criminalization. Criminalization makes it all the more difficult.  I also feel sympathetic for the potential clients or current clients who want to play but are afraid of having a bad experience due to criminalization. There is just so much to worry about for both parties!

What have your experiences been like with Whorephobia?

Luckily, I haven’t experienced whorephobia in a way that impacts my life in a very substantial way. The worst of it has been judgment from other people. Yes, I have experienced discrimination. Yes, I have experienced disapproval and disrespect from people, solely because of my job. This can be really hard to deal with. But I know that if I were engaged in a different line of work, I would have a different set of challenges in my life.

What’s your favorite place to tour and what do you like to do there?

I really enjoy visiting NYC! I enjoy the vitality of the big cities. NYC definitely has a lot of that!

Also, in that part of the country, I find that the clients are much more inclined to book longer appointments, which can be the most memorable for me (and hopefully for them). I feel as though since the city is so fast-paced, clients are more inclined to want to decompress with a longer engagement. During my free time there, I enjoy visiting museums, seeing comedy or a Broadway show.

NYC and NM are probably my most favorite places in the US. NM has beautiful sunsets and the mountains, which is something that I have enjoyed immensely while living here.

What would your dream date look like?

A dream date would be an overnight that begins with us chatting and drinking wine in the bathtub. It’s fun!

Another fun date idea is going to see a show, dinner, and some private time getting to know one another afterwards!

Is there a book, blog, tv show or movie that has had a major impact on your life? What was it and what did it teach you?

It’s really difficult to pick just one book, blog, tv show or movie that has changed my life. I feel like I get a lot of ideas from books, or things I read but it’s hard to pick just one.

My favorite gift to receive is: Probably gift cards to somewhere to shop or spend time. I also enjoy flowers.
My favorite scent is: Sage, lavender and vanilla.
If you want to buy me a drink, you could order a: Red wine, coffee or a hot tea.
I get the biggest thrill out of: experiencing new things.
